Simultaneously, the IOF launched a ground and air assault on Deir Al-Balah for the first time, demolishing entire residential blocks and forcing a new wave of displacement. The bombing unfolded against a backdrop of deepening famine, with dozens, including infants, ascending due to malnutrition and the collapse of the healthcare system. Sunday, July 20th: The day saw horrific massacre in the Al-Sudaniyah area, north of Gaza City, where IOF forces opened fire on thousands of starving civilians awaiting aid. The number of martyrs from this single event climbed throughout the day to over 80, with the total for the day exceeding 145. In the south, IOF strikes targeted the Applied College in Khan Younis, resulting at least 7 martyrs including a civil defense member, while massive demolition operations flattened homes in Beit Hanoun. The day also saw the IOF issue new evacuation orders for southern Deir al-Balah, before the ground invasion. Monday, July 21st: The IOF launched its ground invasion into southern Deir Al-Balah, unleashing airstrikes and shelling that demolished residential squares, mosques, and trapped families under rubble. In Rafah, an IOF special forces operation assassinated journalist Tamer Al-Zaanin and abducted Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, director of Abu Yousef Al-Najjar Hospital. The targeting of the displaced continued with a late-night massacre in the tents of Al-Shati camp, killing over a dozen, mostly women and children. Tuesday, July 22nd: The Ministry of Health announced 15 famine-related deaths in 24 hours and the complete collapse of kidney services at Al-Shifa Hospital. The IOF continued its massacres, annihilating the Al-Shaer family, including an unborn fetus, in a strike on their Tal al-Hawa apartment. For the second day, IOF strikes targeted tents of the displaced in Al-Shati camp, killing another 11, while the brutal campaign against aid seekers resulted in at least 15 more martyrs.
