According to Gaza's Government Media Office, more than 21,500 children, including 1,022 infants, have been killed since the war began on 7 October 2023, as the genocide reached its 1,000th day. The office said the total Palestinian death toll has risen to 73,066, with 173,514 people injured and around 9,500 still missing under the rubble. It also reported that over 90% of Gaza's buildings have been damaged or destroyed and that about 80% of the territory is under Israeli occupation. Separately, UNICEF said more than 11,000 children have sustained life-changing injuries, including up to 4,000 amputations, many performed under extremely challenging medical conditions.

Israeli forces free Majd Abu Laban after five years, leaving him stranded in remote desert [Original post] Israeli forces released Palestinian prisoner Majd Abu Laban after five years in detention, leaving him stranded in a remote desert area near Ramon Prison, according to local reports. Abu Laban was reportedly transported with his hands and feet shackled, before being released far from the prison gate. There are more than 8,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees from the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem held in Israeli prisons, with thousands of them detained without charge or trial. Human rights organisations report that nearly half of these detainees are held under "administrative detention," which permits indefinite imprisonment based on secret evidence without formal charges [Found by: TRT] [Location: West Bank > Negev / Al-Naqab > Beit Sohar Nafha Prison] [Archivist Notes] Nafha Prison consists of two buildings: one old and one new (Ramon prison) which are surrounded by extremely intensified security. Due to it being a “desert prison” it is extremely cold during the winter and extremely hot during the summer. The prison also contains a section for isolation. This old building is located in the southeastern desert area in Palestine. It is located 100 km from Beersheba and 200km away from Jerusalem. Since 1980, the prison was used especially for security prisoners, and it is considered one of the most harsh and severe of the occupation prisons. That comes as no surprise knowing that it was renovated solely for the intended purpose of imprisoning leaders among Palestinian prisoners to subject them to gradual death and to isolate them from the rest of the other prisons. The prisoner released, Majd Abu Laban (Arabic: مجد أبو لبن), from the town of Al-Tur, in occupied East Jerusalem, spent five years in Israeli prisons before being released on July 3, 2026.
