In South Lebanon, Israeli army imposed a designated kill zone in the buffer zone [Original post] Reporting from Berket al-Naqqar near Shebaa, Courtney Bonneau (@cbonneauimages), photojournalist and VPol contributor, documents life inside Israel’s imposed “buffer zone,” where a US-Israeli plan seeks to eth-ic-lly cle-nse border towns and establish the so-called “Trump economic zone,” in an attempt to forcibly displace those who continue to resist the Israeli occupation. ￭ On August 14, Israel dropped flyers marking the area as a k-ll zone. A shepherd, interviewed by Bonneau, explained: “They drew a red line from the dirt road to the top of the mountain… we don’t even take a step and they open f-re from above,” adding that Israel had previously launched a dr-ne str-ke to terr-rize him by att-cking his goats. Later that night, Israel b-mbed the road the shepherd mentioned. ￭ The shepherd insisted: “We are civilians. We won’t leave our livelihoods. We live in the village and we will stay there.
