A large number of casualties were reported in the first moments after the bombing, reflecting the scale of the massacre. Casualties were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital, which itself had received IDF threats the night before to completely evacuate within 24 hours. The road from the hospital to Al Ahli Baptist Hospital was also destroyed by the IDF on October 8th , preventing any transfers of casualties.
