Due to the shock, Safaa stayed away from going to aid sites and charity kitchens, which she described as a vain effort, for about a month. (1:10) Then she went with her younger daughter Jana to the site in Al-Shakoush area, and her daughter got injured by shrapnel at 4 spots in her right side. Jana also sustained a shrapnel that is lodged in her liver and could nto be extracted. Some time later, they went together to the aid trucks in Al-Qalaa area where Jana was injured again by shrapnel in her shoulder. (1:44) Safaa said she had 7 children. The eldest child got killed by the GHF. Jana is acoompnying her mother despite her injuries. The remaining 5 stay back at the tents with the oldest being at 5th grade. (1:58) Safaa says they went a whole week without any flour and her children had to beg door-to-door in the tent camps for bread. (2:11) Safaa was there on the GHF's women-only distribution day. She says she went out at 5:50 am and arrived to an empty site. The women were told to wait and a while later they got pepper-sprayed. Safaa said it was impossible for her to run as she has asthma. She said they did not respect the women nor gave them much aside from the pepper spray.
