Israeli settlers stealing hundreds of sheep from their Palestinian owners in the village of Ras al-Ain Ujah [Original post] On Saturday night (March 8, 2025), hundreds of sheep were stolen from their Palestinian owners in the village of Ras al-Ain Ujah in the South of the Jordan Valley. The theft was carried out for hours by dozens of settlers, some of whom carried weapons, and was done in front of activists of "Looking The Occupation in The Eye", who captured the act of theft on camera and reported it immediately to the authorities, but to no avail. The settlers invaded in an operation coordinated between the heads of the outposts surrounding the villages of Ras al-Ain and Mua'rjat and apparently also with the police and army. One local resident, the owner of one of the herds, after being beaten by the invaders with clubs was arrested by the police. The official reason for his arrest: sheep theft. In addition, another Palestinian was wounded in the hand by a shrapnel. The incident began at 9:00 p.m, when, according to the Palestinian testimony, Zohar Sabah, one of the owners of the outposts, went out at this unusual time with his herd and approached the homes of the community's residents, and in the process his herd was close to the Palestinians' flock, a well-known move that serves as the basis for a false claim that sheep heads were stolen from the settler. Indeed, within minutes, 15 vehicles and dozens of settlers arrived in the area, some armed with weapons, some with clubs. It is not unnecessary to point out that in a previous case that occurred last year, the same tactic was used by the settlers, and only thanks to a documentation made by an activist of "Looking The Occupation in The Eye" the court rejected the false claim of theft and released the Palestinian shepherd who was arrested on its basis. After midnight, a policeman who identified himself as Ya'akov called, and told the activists to come and pick up the stolen sheep. He suggested that they come near Mua'rajat, not far from Zohar Sabah's outpost. Another policewoman named Sarit - who identified herself as the deputy commander of the Binyamin police - also claimed that the sheep were waiting for their owner to come pick them up near the outpost. "Looking" activists drove to the meeting point and after waiting for a while Zohar Sabah, another settler, arrived with 22 sheep. Police officer Jacob Shahada said that they did "above and beyond" and that Zohar Sabah only took back the sheep that was stolen from him. In the morning it became clear that more than a thousand sheep were stolen from the community and goats were murdered. Several herds that were stolen were observed being led to the area of the hill west of the community in the area of Kochav Hashar. Inacceptable. 1/ [Found by: @CdricLabrousse] [Location: Syria] [Archivist Notes] Translation of the caption : "On the evening of a historic National Conference, where a large part of Syrian society was gathered—an unprecedented event in modern history—Israel unleashed its wrath on the south of the country. Daring to attack a country that holds no hostility toward Israel (the new government, regardless of how one views its leadership, has never spoken a word out of line against Tel Aviv). And above all, a country already exhausted, broken, and worn down by decades of dictatorship—finally ended—and emerging from a civil war that lasted over a decade. Unacceptable. 1/"

Your values are emancipating the university from structural racism and complicity with power and colonialism. The situation in Palestine has reached increased genocidal levels, marked by the mass targeting of Palestinian life by killing and displacement; the destroying of social, cultural, and all educational institutions; and the aim to reduce Palestinians to bare life with no political and collective future. You are leaders in the call for justice with your bodies on your university campuses and in the streets, speaking truth and justice loud and clear. You stand for the courage that is needed to take action strongly for justice and freedom and determinedly against systems of genocide and racism. We know the risks you are taking in face of the repressive measures that are taken against university spaces built on challenging the powers benefitting from silence. At a time when the voices of the oppressed are intentionally silenced, your solidarity serves as a beacon of hope. Your actions are a resounding message that injustice and oppression will not be tolerated. On Sunday morning , the Israeli military deployed massive forces, including armored vehicles, heavy bulldozers, and drones, to raid Nur Shams camp. Gunfire and explosions were heard during the raid. Israeli forces began raiding homes, opening fire, kidnapping citizens, and flying drones over the camp. They also imposed a tight siege on the camp. Forced Displacement: Israeli forces seized residential buildings in various areas, including Dhanabah, Iktaba, and as-Salam neighborhood, and forced families to leave these areas on foot after confiscating their cars. Families were also forced at gunpoint to leave Jabel an-Nasser and Jabel as-Salihin neighborhoods , walking to Kafr al-Labad town. After displacing the residents, the Israeli military used the vacated buildings and areas as military posts and sniper sites. The Red Crescent in Tulkarem reported that Israeli forces prevented ambulance crews from entering Nur Shams camp, despite information about Palestinian casualties. The couple was delayed in receiving medical help, with Israeli forces preventing Red Crescent teams from reaching them. After a prolonged delay, they were transported to Thabet Thabet Hospital, only to be stopped again by Israeli forces for half an hour. Sundus and her unborn baby were pronounced dead, while her husband remains in critical condition. According to an article posted in Haaretz on Feb. 10, 2025. Engagement rules modified in IDF According to Haaretz, in an article published on February 10, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Central Command has reportedly expanded its open-fire orders in the West Bank, leading to a high number of Palestinian civilian deaths , according to Israeli army sources. The IDF has denied any official change, claiming that senior officers in the Central Command implemented new tactics. The expanded orders allow soldiers to shoot anyone suspected of planting explosives, leading to increased use of lethal force. These orders have reportedly made soldiers "trigger-happy" and resulted in these tragic incidents, including the deaths of a pregnant woman and a child, as well as other civilians. Critics argue that these new rules resemble tactics used in Gaza, contributing to heightened violence in the West Bank. The IDF maintains that its actions are targeted at combatants, but many of the casualties have been non-combatants. Investigations into these deaths are ongoing.

On January 21, Israel killed at least 10 Palestinians and left more than 35 wounded in a large-scale operation ("Iron Wall") in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin. “Iron Wall,” operation includes IDF troops, Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) officers and Border Police, according to the Israeli military. Name of the victims Dr. Nader Irsheid, Dr. Khaled Zakarneh, Dr. Abdullah Al-Thaher, nurse Muhammad Amarneh, and nurse Ashraf Alauna were injured in different locations, near Jenin Governmental Hospital, Al-Amal Hospital, and Al-Razi Hospital. 1. Jenin Governmental Hospital: More than 600 displaced individuals sought refuge, with the hospital surrounded by military forces and cut off from food for an entire day. Despite attempts to coordinate food delivery, the Israeli military blocked it. Director Wissam Bakr reported that bulldozers made it difficult for medical teams to enter or exit the hospital. Bakr described the situation as tragic, fearing an assault or shooting by the Israeli army. During the night, Israeli forces bulldozed the road outside the Jenin Governmental Hospital, effectively blocking access to the hospital for ambulances. On the morning of January 22, a Roya journalist reported that Israeli forces requested Palestinians evacuate the Jenin Government Hospital and gave patients eight hours to leave. They ordered citizens to walk on foot through a security corridor to the Al-Awda Roundabout, where everyone would be thoroughly inspected. They evicted the Jenin Governmental Hospital. The patients were seen walking on foot, using the bulldozed street before the deadline passed. According to Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP), medics claimed that "minimal staff are inside and they are not allowed to leave." "No supplies, not even basic items like bread, are permitted to enter. Meanwhile, the rest of the hospital staff outside are being prevented from reaching the facility." At the end of the morning, a group of Palestinians were arrested by Israeli forces in front of the entrance. The loud noise of military vehicles and bulldozers, combined with threats over loudspeakers, made the residents fear the hospital could face the same fate as those destroyed by Israeli forces in Gaza. 2. Al-Amal Hospital: The siege was more violent, with soldiers firing indiscriminately into the courtyard, wounding at least three doctors and two hospital workers. The situation was chaotic, with gunfire heard throughout the hospital grounds. A nurse was shot behind the hospital and left bleeding until rescued by a paramedic. The hospital remains under strict siege, with only one ambulance allowed in or out, constantly inspected. Food delivery is only possible through this ambulance, with its staff under constant threat. 3. Al-Razi Hospital & Palestinian Authorities Collaboration Coinciding with the Israeli occupation's aggression, the PA's security forces, affiliated with the Fatah movement (PLO), arrested a wounded young man after besieging and storming the Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin. They also shot a young man in the head. The Director of Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin to Al Jazeera: There are two serious injuries by occupation bullets after clashes in front of the hospital. Security forces affiliated with the Authority stormed the patients' section of the hospital after gunfire. PA security forces stormed the hospital, arresting a wounded man believed to be a member of the Jenin Battalion and wanted by the Israeli army. This marked the first time Palestinian forces publicly participated in an Israeli military assault in the West Bank. Context : Israeli occupation forces have intensified their deadly raid in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, destroying infrastructure, displacing around 2,000 families, and forcing the evacuation of the public hospital under direct threat. January 23: evacuation of Jenin Hospitals continues lsraeli forces continue to evict Palestinians from the vicinity of Jenin Camp, including patients in Jenin Governmental Hospital. Janurary 24 : The infrastructure destruction around the Jenin Governement Hospital continues. The roads and the building are so deeply destructuct that the ambulances cannot reach the entrance of the hospital. On January 25: Deputy Spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the United Nations : “Reports indicate that Jenin Governmental Hospital is still without water & electricity, due to the Israeli aggression.” “Reports indicate difficulty in reaching Jenin Governmental Hospital due to damaged roads.” On January 26: Israeli occupation forces also continue to block access to the Jenin Government Hospital, hindering the entry and exit of civilians. On January 28-29: The occupation forces continue to obstruct the work of ambulance crews in the city of Jenin, as they detained ambulances during the night in the industrial zone, the Post Street area, and the main roundabout. They also tighten their entry and exit to the Jenin Governmental Hospital, and check the identities of paramedics. A woman and her son, attempting to reach Jenin Government Hospital, were forced to leave their car, searched, and prevented from reaching the hospital. The woman fainted. This incident is an indication of the consequences faced by the people of Jenin due to health access obstruction. Statement of UN human rights office Thameen al-Kheetan, of the UN human rights office, called Israeli tactics in Jenin “deadly operations”, after Israel targeted a refugee camp in the centre of the city and besieged a nearby hospital : “We are deeply concerned by the use of unlawful lethal force in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank,” he said on Friday, criticising “methods and means developed for war fighting, in violation of human rights law … this includes multiple airstrikes and apparently random shooting at unarmed residents attempting to flee or find safety.”

The settlers, one of whom was wearing a uniform, called one of the Palestinians, searched him, confiscated his cell phone, blindfolded him, tied his hands, and loaded him into the vehicle. According to his testimony, the vehicle was stopped and he was taken out of it. For about an hour he sat with his eyes covered and his hands tied - during which he heard the settlers eating and laughing at him. The settlers accused him of grazing sheep on a plot of land they had sown - private Palestinian land. The family of the young man who was kidnapped grew wheat on the plot for years, until this year Elyashiv Nahum, the settler from Havat Yehuda, plowed the plot in order to take control of it. According to testimonies from the village residents, the vehicle that kidnapped the shepherd entered Elyashiv's outpost. After the settlers finished eating, they put the shepherd back in the car and took him to an unknown location - where, according to his testimony, they took him out of the car and told him to walk, but did not warn him that there was a staircase and allowed him to fall. They put him back in the car and dropped him off at an intersection several kilometers from his home.
