The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Israeli occupation spread misleading information about Palestinian victims, labeling widowed women as terrorists after the Ministry of Social Development provided them with cash assistance. While Israel was killing Palestinians without distinction between men, women, children, or the elderly, resulting in over 240,000 killed and injured and a 10 percent decrease in Gaza’s population, it made no distinction between armed and civilian individuals, committing war crimes. Israeli double standards are also evident in the occupation’s theft of 258 million shekels from the Palestinian Authority’s funds, redirecting them to Israeli families whose members participated in the massacre in Gaza. These are the real criminals who should be denied any assistance and held legally accountable.

But the fact of the matter is, we committed genocide in Gaza.” With these words, Dr. Feroze Sidhwa, an American trauma surgeon who volunteered twice in Gaza over the past two years, addressed the California Democratic Convention’s Progressive Caucus, saying the United States is enabling and fueling Israel’s genocide on the besieged enclave. Sidhwa said he witnessed mass civilian killings, the destruction of hospitals, starvation, and severe injuries among children during his medical missions. He noted that US healthcare workers repeatedly warned American officials through open letters, but received no response. Citing available research, he said the death toll in Gaza could reach around 215,000 people, including tens of thousands of children.
