The bodies of 2 Basij fighters who were burned alive will be buried today During the recent riots, 2 Basijites named "Ali Akbar Zarei" and "Taha Azizikhah" who were present in the Pakdasht Mosque, were attacked by a group of rioters. According to the observations of the people and the statements of the local authorities, the attackers, knowing the presence of these 2 Basij groups inside the mosque, prevented them from leaving in an organized manner, and then by throwing a Molotov cocktail into this holy place, they started a deliberate fire. As a result of this criminal act, these 2 Basiji youths were burned alive and martyred. Their bodies are reported to be severely damaged and burned. In an interview with Fars, the head of Pakdasht Martyrs and Martyrs Foundation, while confirming this news and condemning this barbaric act, emphasized: "The martyrdom of these two loyal Basij was a planned crime in the region, and the criminals committed this painful crime in a holy place with unprecedented cruelty." The bodies of these 2 martyrs will be buried from Azadegan Square in Pakdasht to Moalem Square today, Monday at 14:00. The government announced 3 days of public mourning following the martyrdom of a large number of people and security guards at the hands of rioters and terrorist groups.

The settlers told the police they were just working on the fence and pretended to be doing it (after 1:00 am). An older settler arrived to support them. VIDEO | Israeli police repress Palestinians protesting at the Bir al-Maksur junction between Nazareth and Shefa‘Amr, after demonstrators gathered to condemn the surge in crime in Palestinian communities inside the 1948 territories, the complicity of Israeli police, and its failure to pursue perpetrators. The protest followed a triple murder in Shefa‘Amr, where three Palestinians from Bir al-Maksur working at a construction site were shot dead in cold blood, and came on the same day a medical student was killed in a separate shooting in the Negev (occupied Al-Naqab) village of Ar'ara while visiting family after returning from medical studies in Georgia. It is now widely recognized that Israel fosters and deliberately neglects violence targeting Palestinians with Israeli citizenship. Since the beginning of 2026, at least 11 murders have been recorded in less than a week, with Israeli authorities taking no meaningful action to prevent the killings or hold those responsible accountable.

17 years ago today, on January 6, 2009, Israeli occupation forces carried out the Al-Fakhoura school massacre during their 2008-2009 war on Gaza, killing 40 civilians and wounding dozens of displaced Palestinians who had sought shelter there. This was not an isolated attack. In 2014, Israeli forces shelled Al-Fakhoura school again, killing more than 10 displaced people. In 2023, the same school was struck once more, resulting in the killing of over 200 displaced civilians and injuring more than 300 others.
