Over 80 days after the ceasefire, Israel has continued killing and injuring Palestinians in Gaza while bombings, shelling, and destruction expand westward. Recent attacks include strikes on Jabaliya refugee camp, al-Bureij, eastern Rafah, and parts of Gaza City, leaving at least three injured in Jabaliya alone. This coming year, we pray that Palestine is liberated, and that we have sovereignty over our land. A big part of indigenous sovereignty is our connection to our land. For Palestinian communities to build our own food and agricultural systems, and to put the farmers and consumers over markets and external control. In collaboration with our partners, Arab Protection for Nature, The Sameer Project invested in a local agricultural project growing 20 donoms of wheat. This can yield into 6-8 tons of wheat. The project was done on farmland in the Masdar area, Central Gaza, and cost us $5,450, which includes 9% commission. With hopes of entering the second phase of the ceasefire that will hopefully bring more stability and predictability, The Sameer Project is looking to collaborate more with APN on sustainable projects.
